And now for something completely different! My sons and I were out on a walk on Bothamley ("The Old Road"), and we discovered this mushroom among a bed of pine needles. While I was photographing it, my youngest swatted it with a stick, not really knowing what I was doing. As soon as he realized he made me sad, he started wailing. Tears of remorse. I was able to pick up the top part of the mushroom and stick it back on the stem that remained protruding out of the ground. That made both of us happy again. If you look closely, you can see the crack in the stem.
